Global aerospace and automotive engineering standards organization SAE International has announced the publication of a new technical standard, AS9117: Delegated Product Release Verification.
AS9117: Delegated Product Release Verification
The new standard from SAE International’s G-14 Americas Aerospace Quality Standards Committee (AAQSC) specifies requirements for delegated product release verification (DPRV). The DPRV process varies from organization to organization, but AS9117 is intended to establish common product and service requirements for use at all levels of the supply chain, reducing the risk of escapes when an organization’s product release verification has been delegated to a supplier.
AS9117 will be used as the baseline for establishing the DPRV process, although a delegating organization may also include additional contract requirements to meet any other specific needs.
About SAE G-14 AAQSC and SAE International
G-14 AAQSC is the SAE committee that addresses aerospace quality design, maintenance, and in-service experience through the development and promotion of quality standards for use within the aero engine supply chain. The standards create by SAE G-14 AAQSC are intended to integrate industry best practice and aero engine unique elements.
In addition, SAE G-14 AAQSC develops training and guidance materials to support the implementation of standards and the overall development of the supply chain in key areas. SAE G-14 also serves as the a liason with government organizations and regulatory bodies to review requirements.
SAE International is a global association of over 128,000 engineers and technical experts. SAE’s mission statement is to advance self-propelled vehicle and system knowledge in a neutral form for the benefit of society. The association connects and educates engineers and experts while promoting, developing, and advancing aerospace, commercial vehicle, and automotive engineering.
